Private Art Lessons & Creative Arts Therapy Sessions
Description:Open to artists of all abilities ages 4-18. I currently teach private lessons at ArtSpace Herndon and give private art therapy sessions in Sterling. I have had the opportunity to work with several different populations of children and teens(children at a private elementary school; preschool aged children with autism; children & teens with emotional & psychiatric disorders; children and teens with medical illnesses as well as their siblings). Artwork offers children and teens a safe place to express themselves and provides them opportunities to develop their self-esteem.

Making art enables a person to:

EXPRESS himself/herself

TELL his/her story

CREATE is a program designed to allow the participants to focus on using art as a means of expression, relaxation, and communication.  The focus is on giving the artists the materials and space to create meaningful pieces of art in an open studio format with the belief that the process of making art is just as important as the finished artwork. The coordinator provides a variety of mediums and materials while also explaining the how-tos of fine arts.  The artists have free range to create.
